What do worn and frayed US flags, old eyeglasses, extra Bibles, old hearing aids, and unneeded medications have in common? We all have them stashed around the house because we don’t want to treat them as trash. Many of these unused items can be used by someone else, but it can be a hassle to get them to the people who can use them. Shepherd of the Canyon Lutheran Church in Gold Canyon is hosting a one-day collection event to take the hassle out of getting these items out of our “stashes” and into the hands of people who can use or properly dispose of them. “Stashed Not Trash” will be held on Saturday, November 7 th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Shepherd of the Canyon located at 6499 S. Kings Ranch Road in Gold Canyon (in the Goldcor Center behind “Bad Habits”). In addition to collecting “stashed” items, Shepherd of the Canyon is providing food, drinks, live music, and a raffle at no cost. Bring a worn US Flag and get a free bratwurst. Drop off an old hearing aid and listen to free live music. Turn in unused prescription drugs and enter a free raffle. Or just come by and enjoy some free food and entertainment.
